Statement of Faith

†    We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God sent by God into the world to save people from their sins (Jn 3:16-17; Rom 5:8) and to extend to each individual new, eternal life, which has its beginning upon conversion and is fully realized in the next life (Jn 4:13-14; Jn 17:3; Rom 6:22; Gal 6:8; 1 Jn 5:13). 

†    We believe Jesus is the fulfillment of Old Testament scriptures (Ps 16:9-11 and Acts 2:26-31; Isa 53; Mic 5:2; Lk 4:16-21; 1 Cor 15:3-4). 

†    We believe Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead (Acts 2:22-24; Acts 17:31; Matt 27:32-28:15; Mk 15:1-16:14; Lk 23:26-24:8; Jn 19:17-20:18). 

†    We believe Jesus now sits at the right hand of God (Lk 22:69; Acts 2:33; Acts 5:31; Rom 8:34) and will one day return for his church (Acts 1:9-11; Jn 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Heb 9:28b) whereupon every believer will receive their eternal reward (Matt 5:1-12; Matt 10:40-42; 1 Cor 3:10-15; 2 Cor 5:10; Gal 6:7-9; Eph 6:8) and spend eternity with God (Matt 19:16-21; Matt 26:46; Jn 3:36; Rom 6:23; 1 Jn 2:25).

†    We believe that every person is created by God, in his image (Gen 1:26-27;

Ps 139:13-16; Eph 2:10), but that sin has broken our relationship with God (Gen 3; Rom 5:12; Col 3:5-6).  “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23).  The end result of un-forgiven sin is eternal death and separation from God (Matt 5:21-23; Matt 25:31-46; Matt 26:46; Mk 9:43-48; Rev 2:11; Rev 20:14-15).

†    We believe that salvation, forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life, are available to anyone (Acts 2:39; Heb 9:26b-281; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 3:9) who receives and confesses faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior (Matt 10:32; Lk 12:8; Rom 10:9-10), who repents of their sins and submits to Christian baptism by immersion (Matt 4:17; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; Acts 20:21; Rom 6:1-4) following the example and command set forth by Jesus (Matt 3:16; Mk 1:9; Mk 16:16; Matt 28:19).

†    We believe the Bible is the authoritative, inspired word of God (2 Tim 3:16-17), given to humankind to communicate God’s love and salvation plan for the world (Lk 1:1-4; Jn 5:39; 2 Tim 3:15; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Rev 1:3) and to guide and direct people in their individual faith and life in God and to guide and direct the church in matters of faith and practice (Ps 33:4; Matt 7:24-27; 2 Tim 1:13; Heb 4:12-13; James 1:21).

†    We believe the church is: (1) a worshipping community (Rom 12:1-2) charged with honoring God that he might be glorified and others pointed to him (Ex 15:2; Ps 34:3; 1 Cor 14:6-17); (2) Christ’s body in the world, placed in the world by God to continue Jesus’ earthly ministry of love and service (Matt 5:43-48; Jn 13:2-15) developing and making new disciples of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8; Acts 5:42; 1 Cor 12:27; Eph 1:22-23; Eph 5:23; Matt 28:18-20).
